Recovery.gov has launched a new flickr site and is encouraging citizen participation. People are asked to take pictures of recovery projects in their area and upload them to the sitein order to capture a national snapshot of those Recovery projects, from road construction and weatherization projects to health extension centers.
The really cool thing with this launch is if you take the pictures on your cell or other mobile device the images you upload will use the GPS to place the image of Recovery’s geocoded map.
The map allows you to see how money is allocated across the country for Recovery. If people really use this site it could turn out being really cool. Thought?
