    JOB SUMMARY:

    If you would like to lead large system change efforts to help create a high performing organization, then this is the position for you. The historic mission of the Department of Commerce is “to foster,
    promote, and develop the foreign and domestic commerce” of the
    United States. This has evolved, as a result of legislative and
    administrative additions, to encompass broadly the responsibility to
    foster, serve, and promote the Nation’s economic development and
    technological advancement.

    The position is located in the Office of the Secretary, Chief Financial Officer and Assistant Secretary for Administration. The Deputy Director for Open Government maintains responsibility for the overall development and maintenance of Open Government policies, procedures, and guidance essential to the effective and efficient implementation of these activities. Serves as the key advisor on issues related to compliance with OMB Directives and memoranda on Open Government, the Federal Information Security Management Act, the E-Government Act of 2002, as well as other Transparency and Open Government mandates and activities, Federal Advisory Committee Act (FACA) matters and Departments’ directives system and relevant Executive Orders. Works to develop and implement all elements of the Department Open Government plan.
