    The incumbent serves as the Security Officer in the Office of Security providing expertise, leadership, and management for the (1) development, administration, and evaluation of comprehensive security plans, programs, policies, procedures, and methods for safeguarding personnel, property, information, operations, and material; (2) development, administration, evaluation of policies and procedures for personnel security including adjudicating the character, background, and suitability of candidates for continued employment, and access to Classified information; and (3) development, administration, and evaluation of programs, policies, and procedures for emergency preparedness, including continuity of operations (COOP) and Pandemic Influenza plans.

    Applicants must have at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience typically related to the position at the next lower grade level. Specialized experience is experience that equips the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to demonstrating leadership and management experience in overseeing the full range of physical, and personnel security programs and supervision of a professional staff.
