    With the growing demand for government transparency, the public sector space has really kicked social media efforts up a notch. This adoption of online communication is making citizens happy and government even more awesome.

    Local governments have been embracing the power of mobility with applications such as YouTown, connecting citizens to their government through mobile devices.

    Even the White House is making continous efforts to increase and improve their social media presence. Facebook Fans and Twitter followers were recently surveyedfor feedback on the White House’s online programs.

    Chief of US Naval Operations Adm. Gary Roughead recently said that “ignoring social media is a ‘strategic error of the most basic nature,’” and emphasizes the importance of using social media as a means of communication.

    To keep up with the public sector’s social media trends, SAP Public has not only partnered with GovLoop, but they recently rolled out their official Twitter feed,@SAPPublicSector and SAP North America Facebook Page. Followers and fans can find the latest SAP public sector news, offers, and event information.
