    Position overview
    As a competent authority analyst, your assignments may include:

    •Receiving and reviewing requests for competent authority consideration and Advance Pricing Agreement (APA) submissions
    •Assisting IRS technicians by researching facts and issues pertaining to cases
    •Preparing U.S. positions for the U.S. Competent Authority, recommending a course of action based on analysis of the facts of the case, appropriate tax law and treaty, and the position of the foreign country
    •Developing bi-lateral Advance Pricing Agreements
    •Negotiating with foreign Competent Authority representatives
    •Preparing documents to implement the Mutual Agreement with foreign countries
    •Advising IRS and Treasury personnel on competent authority issues
