    Job Description

    The Airport Manager is responsible for the development, operation and maintenance of the La Crosse Municipal Airport including supervision of a staff of 15 employees. This individual develops and enforces contracts, leases, agreements and permits. He/she also maintains coordination and cooperation among the various interests using the airport, is responsible for maintenance functions, security functions and all other activities related to the direct operation of the Airport, studies and makes recommendations concerning proposed legislation affecting aviation, and prepares and justifies the annual operating and capital budgets. Other managerial responsibilities include recommending current and future potential program needs for the development of the airport, coordinating and planning improvements with the proper federal, state and local representatives, overseeing the collection of revenues from airport users and carrying out the requirements called for in FAR’s PART 139 and 49 CFR 1542. The Airport Manager will also make administrative, budgeting and statistical studies, along with analyzing work performances and time studies so as to utilize personnel as efficiently as possible. Finally, the Airport Manager will also investigate the availability of state and federal funding for airport projects and will establish policies and procedures.
