    Some of the duties include:

    Prepare budget proposals for major program changes or increases in funding, and develop written justifications to support them.

    Lead the budget formulation and justification activities of a major program and advise program staff and managers concerning budget priorities, the status of proposals, and the adequacy of justifications.

    Coordinate preparation of budget capability statements, effects statements, and questions-and-answers with program staff and managers to ensure their completeness, accuracy and timeliness.

    Exercise independent judgment in interpreting and adapting available guidelines in order to anticipate budget requirements and processes and provide leadership and guidance for program staff and managers.

    Mentor subordinates and help them expand their competencies and increase their effectiveness and efficiency in performing their duties and responsibilities.


    Qualifications and Evaluations

    QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

    You must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level. Examples of experience may include: identifying budget priorities and strategies for an organization for outyears; preparing budget proposals and justifications; analyzing Office of Management and Budget and Congressional responses to an organization’s budget proposals; revising budget strategies; communicating with variety of personnel at all levels in budget offices; identifying alternative ways of allocating appropriated funds and proposing preferred strategies and methods; tracking appropriations and allocations over time and across various recipients; interpreting and analyzing budget regulations and policies in order to provide guidance to office staff and managers.
