Responsible for the management of the operating budget of the Office of the Clerk. Formulates and manages the compilation, creation and preparation of the annual budgetary submission requirements. Interprets financial data and provides assistance to division personnel with such analysis. Responsible for writing and synthesizing budget, financial and other related testimonies and presentations required of the office. Manages various projects in the fulfillment of the day-to-day operation within and among the various divisions of the organization. Coordinates and maintains a good working relationship with vendors and congressional staff, in fulfillment of the financial management requirements of the office. Prepares and analyzes monthly financial reports. Works in a small work station in an office environment without an expectation of privacy where noise levels are usually moderate.
Considerable knowledge of specialized principles and practices of budget and financial management processes and systems. Detailed knowledge of the legislative process and the ability to plan, coordinate and evaluate short and long-term projects and programs. The ability to analyze facts and to exercise sound judgment in arriving at timely decisions is essential. Strong written and oral communications skills are required. A Bachelor’s Degree in a related filed from a recognized college or university and a minimum of seven years of progressive experience is required.
