    This position is located at the Small Business Administration, Massachusetts District Office, Business Development Division, which is located in Boston, Massachusetts.     You will be responsible for marketing SBA’s programs and services to a wide range of individuals and organizations. You will work closely with SBA’s resource partners to develop and coordinate programs for diverse audiences. This is an exciting opportunity to assist small businesses directly and help stimulate America’s economic growth. As a Business Development Specialist you will meet with representatives of groups, organizations, associations, and other coalitions to identify specific or unique needs of its members and coordinate presentations to their memberships at regular or specially-called meetings. You will be responsible to maintain relationships through the delivery of newsletters, personal phone calls, on-site visits, and participation in activities sponsored by the organizations. You will participate in the development and implementation of marketing plans and business development strategies to expand SBA’s reach, analyzing Census Bureau information, reference books, the Internet, SBA Statistical data, and other economic data. You will represent the Agency at public functions which vary greatly in size, purpose, and audience such as trade shows, specialized business associations, annual conventions, or invitational functions. You will be responsible to establish and maintain good working relationships with Chambers of Commerce and other Economic Development organization within the State of Massachusetts.

    You will coordinate all public information activities, establish and maintain effective working relationships with all media, participate in media events, draft news releases, develop newsletters, etc.

    You will perform field marketing and outreach to new markets, with a special emphasis on the Hispanic market. Develop and tailor program initiatives and resources so as to meet the needs of the Hispanic market and to address their unique requirements for direct SBA involvement and assistance. Give presentations and briefings to wide range of groups and audiences where the ability to speak Spanish would be desirable in order to enhance the services provided by the SBA.

    Duties performed at the GS-9 through GS-11 level will be at the developmental capacity.
