    City of El Cajon, CA

    With an average of 300 days of sunshine per year and located just minutes from downtown San Diego, it’s no mystery why more than 100,000 residents and numerous businesses choose the City of El Cajon as the ideal location to call home. The city has historically benefitted from incredible stability in both its elected leadership and professional management. A full-service municipality, El Cajon is supported by 430 employees and a FY2011-12 General Fund budget of $50 million (total budget $160 million).

    Building on the momentum of recent revitalization successes, the City Council has identified economic development as a top priority. The new City Manager will be expected to develop a plan and vision that optimizes the city’s numerous assets. He/she will be an effective and accessible communicator who enjoys proactively engaging with stakeholders. Three years of senior local government management experience is highly desirable and a Bachelor’s degree is required.
