    Job Description

    The City of Danville, Kentucky, is seeking a qualified individual to serve as city manager. This is a contract position within the City ofDanville.

    This is an excellent opportunity to live and work in a unique community that is the County Seat of Boyle County. Danville had a 2010 population of 16,218. It is the principal city of the Danville Metropolitan Statistical Area, which includes all of Boyle and Lincoln Counties.

    The City operates under a City Manager form of government. The governing body is an elected Mayor and four Commissioners who make up a Board of Commissioners. The Board of Commissioners appoints a City Manager to be the Chief Administrative Officer of the City. Reporting to the City Manager are all department heads on the management team. The FY 2012 annual budget for the City is $24.9 million and there are 132 full-time and 28 part-time City employees.

    The starting salary will be market competitive, depending upon the experience and qualifications of the selected candidate. The successful candidate will also receive a competitive fringe benefit program plus reasonable relocation expenses.

    Job Requirements

    Graduation from an accredited college or university with a degree in public or business administration, business planning, business management or accounting is required plus 5 years experience in municipal or other governmental planning and management. Requires valid driver’s license and residency within the City of Danvilleboundary. Evidence of continued professional development as shown by participation in professional association activities to stay abreast of changes in the field. An ICMA Credentialed Manager would be a plus.
