On May 14, 2004, the Secretary of Veterans Affairs approved consolidation of the Wade Park and Brecksville campuses to a single campus at Wade Park. When consolidated facilities are completed at Wade Park, VA operations at Brecksville will cease and most employees will be reassigned to the Wade Park campus. Other reassignments may predate the final cessation of operations at Brecksville, including but not limited to the establishment of a VA outpatient clinic in Parma, Ohio. Anticipated completion of the Wade Park facility is approximately December, 2011.

There is one vacancy for a Clinical Psychologist in Psychology Service. Tour of duty is Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm and the majority of time will be spent at the Wade Park facility, however some provision of services at other facilities is expected.
The incumbent will provide assessment and recovery services to veterans with issues related to neurological, cognitive, visual, and mental health problems. The ideal candidate will be a licensed psychologist with a combination of a strong assessment background, including capacity and competency assessments, and experience or training in hospital or rehabilitation settings, neuropsychology, or geriatrics. The incumbent will provide brief interventions for inpatients and outpatients, perform psychological evaluations to aid in diagnosis, treatment planning, and determining functional capacity, and design treatment interventions to facilitate recovery or placement. Typical tasks will include treatment and management of patients with cognitive impairments or behavior control problems, consultation with staff on complex psychopathology, compensation and pension evaluation, and general psychological assessments. Services will be provided in the outpatient clinic, nursing home units, residential blind rehabilitation unit, and inpatient neurology.
