The City of Marion is seeking applicants for a newly created Communications Coordinator position in the City Manager’s office. This is an exempt, professional position under the City of Marion’s personnel policies. The Communications Coordinator will direct the development and execution of all the City of Marion’s public relations activities and direct media relations for the City. The successful candidate will be expected to advise City personnel on communications methods and strategies, as well as acting in the role of public information officer for the city. Support will be provided to City departments and elected officials, plus related work as required.
