Selectee will receive Law Enforcement Availability Pay at the rate of 25% of base pay unless pay exceeds the applicable pay cap.

The Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA), Office of Inspector General (FHFA-OIG) ensures that all FHFA programs and operations are effective and efficient by conducting audits, investigations and reviews of the activities, programs, and other operations of the FHFA, and recommending courses of action designed to assist the FHFA in promoting economy and efficiency in the administration of its programs and operations.
FHFA regulates and supervises Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and the 12 Federal Home Loan Banks (the Government Sponsored Entities (GSEs)). FHFA's primary mission is to ensure that the GSEs operate in a safe and sound manner and support a stable, liquid, and efficient mortgage market, including sustainable home ownership and affordable housing.

The Communications Officer directs FHFA-OIG's overall public communications program, and serves as the principal advisor to the IG and other senior-level managers on all communications needs associated with FHFA-OIG's activities as well as other OIG policies, plans, programs, and accomplishments. Specifically, s/he performs the following duties:
# Directs and coordinates the planning, development, and execution of FHFA-OIG's media strategy, which may include nationwide media (public service campaigns) to promote, among other things, reports prepared by FHFA-OIG.
# The incumbent formulates, oversees, and directs the structural development of creative products for FHFA-OIG, including all media messages, press releases, for television, radio, print, and Internet publications.
# Maintains continuing awareness of OIG policies, plans, programs, and accomplishments by attending OIG status meetings, reviewing published audit, evaluation, investigation, and other OIG reports, and consulting regularly with senior OIG staff.
# Participates in meetings with officials of the FHFA, other Executive branch agencies, members of Congress and/or their staffs, and members and staff of Congressional committees, and media representatives as needed.
# Plans and organizes complex, major analytical projects, including the preparation of testimony and speeches, as directed.
# Develops and maintains strong relationships with the press to promote the work of the FHFA-OIG.
