With a population of 339,828, Butler County is ranked as the 8th largest County in Ohio. Butler County operates under a Council-Administrator form of local government. The three-member elected County Commission is the governing body of Butler County. The General Fund County adopted budget for FY 2011 is $79.2 million and the total County budget for FY 2011 is $395.2 million. There are approximately 753 full-time County employees under the control of the County Commissioners.
The County Administrator of Butler County is the Chief Administrative Officer of the County.
The successful individual will possess as a minimum a Bachelor’s degree or higher from a four-year college or university with a major in Public Administration, Business Administration, Management, Finance or other field related to Public Service and Management. A Master’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration or a related field would be a plus. An ICMA Credentialed Public Manager would also be a plus.
The ideal candidate should possess at least five years of progressively responsible experience in Management/Administration, preferably in Public Administration; or any combination of education, training and/or experience equivalent to the minimum qualifications stated above.
