Plans, implements and maintains relational database management systems. Maintains the physical descriptions of database components, develops standards, data definitions, documentation and design of data security. Installs, tests and maintains database management and related systems software and application software. Establishes and maintains contact with vendors for software support and problem resolution. Prepares recommendations for establishment/revision of policies, standards and procedures for management and operation of the Office of Information Technology. Attends training and seminars as required to retain knowledge of information technology products and services. Performs other duties as assigned.
A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Systems and experience in the design, creation and maintenance of Microsoft SQL Server databases. Related experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year-for-year basis. Knowledge of database management systems, concepts and design methodologies, especially Microsoft SQL Server database management system. Overnight travel as required.
