    Salary listed reflects salary range for GS-15, Step 1 through Step 10, including locality pay. Pay setting regulations require that pay for first Federal appointment be set at the step 1 of the grade.

    DUTIES:

    The Director, Community Planning and Development (CPD) Field Office is responsible for the administration and management of HUD’s Community Planning and Development programs in the assigned geographic jurisdiction for the purpose ensuring grantees develop viable communities by promoting integrated approaches that provide decent housing, a suitable living environment and expand economic opportunities for low and moderate income persons. The Director is responsible for the administration, management and oversight of a CPD grant portfolio, consisting of formula and competitive grants within its jurisdiction. Such grant programs are listed on HUD website at http://www.hud.gov/offices/cpd/about/cpd_programs.cfm The Director is responsible for the development and execution of multiyear and annual plans which are aligned with HUD’s strategic goals. The incumbent oversees the full range of administering a grants management program, including processing of grant applications, performance reviews and assessments, which includes monitoring and compliance of grantees to ensure program funds are used effectively and in conformance with applicable laws, rules and regulations. Technical assistance is delivered to grantees and other stakeholder organizations to successful program performance. The Director exercises full range of human capital management authority and administers resources within prescribed budgets to successfully implement goals indentified in CPD and the Departmental Management Plans. The Director serves as the primary representative within the field office jurisdiction and addresses highly controversial, sensitive and complex situations while coordinating with Headquarters Officials, making recommendations or identifying further actions or engagement of other Headquarters/Field/Regional officials.
