Santa Barbara County is one of the most desirable places in the world to live and work with a spectacular natural setting that includes 50 miles of scenic Southern California coastline. This is a new position created to lead the formation of the Community Services Department.
The Department will be responsible for County parks, open spaces, recreational areas and beaches, housing and community development programs, liaison with County libraries, and the activities of the Parks, Human Services and the Arts Commissions. Community Services will be supported by 74 FTE.
At least 10 years of experience in a public sector or non-profit setting within a discipline relevant to this position is required. Experience must include a minimum of three years serving as a manager. A Bachelor’s degree is also required.
