Situated on the mid-west coast of Florida, the City of Tarpon Springs, a small historic city with an unusual mix of Greek culture, Victorian and Floridian architecture and an abundance of cultural and recreational opportunities, is seeking an energetic, results-oriented Economic Development Manager with a proven track record of success. The incumbent coordinates and monitors various development projects; identifies and analyzes opportunities for additional growth; develops and actively implements economic development strategies to facilitate new development as well as the expansion and retention of existing business and industry.
Bachelor's degree in Economics, Public Administration or Business Administraction or related field, from an accredited college or university and five years of professional experience in the field demonstrating broad knowledge of and exposure to revenue development, marketing & recruitment, economic development or related field. A Master's degree in one of the above listed fields may be subsituted for two years of required experience. The successful candidate is expected to be in the process of obtaining Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) certification. Prior Public Sector Experience,. Prior Economic Development Experience. At a minimum, completion of the Basic Economic Development Course (International Economic Development Council (IEDC).
