    JOB SUMMARY:

    The incumbent serves as an environmental protection specialist within the Environmental Planning and Analysis department (KEC) of the Environment, Fish, and Wildlife (EFW) organization. The incumbent in this position prepares and processes various types of environmental documents; conducts analysis of natural and social resources to determine the scope and effect of impacts created by agency actions; ensures the satisfaction of applicable regulations, policies and guidelines; serves as a lead contact, at the project level, for environmental matters internally and with external agencies, governments, tribes, and the public; and identifies and implements various project public involvement plans

    DUTIES:

    Ensures consistency with various laws, regulations, and guidelines related to the protection of natural and social resources (e.g. National Environmental Policy Act, Endangered Species Act; National Historic Preservation Act, etc.). Plans and implement actions to attain necessary environmental clearances for routine and/or more complex customer and/or client proposals. Actions may include determining scope of proposal through contacting proponents, coordinating within BPA, and contacting other agencies. The incumbent ensures timely preparation and the adequacy, accuracy, and consistency of environmental reports and related decision documents, such as Environmental Assessments and Environmental Impact Statements.
