Join GovLoop (a division of GovDelivery) and be a part of a small, dynamic team that is working to create the next generation of government. As part of the GovLoop team, you will be helping us build and nurture a unique community for government employees that adapts the best practices from Facebook, Good Magazine, Change.org, LinkedIn, and others to engage users and help encourage and support their work as public servants.

    • Develop daily e-mail newsletters
    • Creating and synthesize GovLoop content into guides, manuals, and online resources
    • Implementing GovLoop groups for key government and corporate partners
    • Researching, recommending, and developing new online features, applications, and properties to expand GovLoop
    • Finding, structuring, and tagging content to make more user-friendly
    • Attend government-related events in DC and capture content through blogs, videos, and photos
    • Recruiting and managing volunteers

    Qualifications:

    • Recent graduates or Graduate student (MPA/MPP, journalism, graphic design, computer scientists, etc)
    • Passion for social media and new technology
    • Experience and/or interest in the public sector
    • Thrive in start-up culture
    • Dynamic go-getter who can handle a range of tasks
    • People that know how to move fast and get stuff done
    • Research skills
    • Interest and knowledge of technology
    • Community organizing a plus (from politics to online)

    What’s in it for you:

    • Internship in heart of DC (office 3 blocks from White House)
    • Paid internship – fall stipend
    • Meet and build connections with the movers and shakers in government
    • Help make real change in improving government
    • Your work will matter and be implemented (not intern shelfware)
    • Tons of fun
    • Length – mid-August to mid-December (although have flexibility)
