Seeking a Director to oversee all facets of the information technology functions and activities throughout all Village departments. The IT Director should possess considerable knowledge and be responsible for information technology, data and voice communication systems, electronic data processing, management information systems, office automation, computerized financial applications, and local area networks (LAN). This individual should possess a working knowledge of programming, personal computers, automated telephone response systems, client/server network protocols, Internet/Intranet applications and computer hardware.
The Director provides technical and professional advice, makes presentations to the Board regarding issues, programs, services and plans, and will be required to be available outside of normal business hours.
The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in information technology, management information services, computer science or a closely related field, and five years of proven progressively responsible experience in information technology operations in a government setting, including experience in local and wide area networking, with two years experience in an upper-management level capacity. MCSE certification preferred. Proven extensive governmental experience interacting with elected officials, to include verbal and written communications, presentations, and meetings is required.
As a condition of employment, the director will be required to establish and maintain residency within the Village of Matteson boundaries within 12 months of employment.
Benefits provided by the Village include paid vacation and sick leave, life, medical and dental insurance, paid holidays and retirement plan. Salary up to $95,000 DOQ.
