    Job Description


    This position is responsible for providing basic security and disaster recovery for KPERS information technology. The incumbent will assist with the implementation, monitoring, and maintaining of security and disaster recovery policies and procedures and document any security measures and tests that have been used. Assist the IT Security Analyst II in maintaining security software applications, granting access to users, and assisting users with non-complex security requirements. The duties include providing technical assistance on KPERS servers, and network devices such as Ethernet switches. Technical support is performed daily dealing with day to day assistance with agency staff to installing and configuring hardware and software.     Minimum Qualifications


    Successful completion of 12 hours in computer science coursework or certification and six months experience in providing security and disaster recovery for information technology systems. Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency. Please provide proof of course work or certificaiton.

    Agency Preferred Qualifications


    In addition to the minimum qualifications, the agency will give preference to applicants that have the technical knowledge to provide support for the installation, configuration, and management of network servers, network operating systems, network switches/routers, Storage Area Network (SAN), and firewalls. A solid technical understanding of system level software and relational database concepts would be a plus.
