    The Office of the Secretary (OST) oversees the formulation of National transportation policy and promotes intermodal transportation. Other responsibilities range from negotiation and implementation of international transportation agreements, assuring the fitness of US airlines, enforcing airline consumer protection regulations, issuance of regulations to prevent alcohol and illegal drug misuse in transportation systems and preparing transportation legislation.

    This position is located in the Office of the Secretary, Office of Intelligence and Security, Plans and Policy Division. You will serve as a Management Analyst for transportation security and provide guidance, advice, and assistance to the Director of the Office of Intelligence and Security, and his/ her Associate Directors.

    You will be responsible for all aspects of surface transportation including mass transit, rail, and highway and is responsible for analyzing and understanding the application of appropriate domestic and international security regulations, policies, procedures, legislation, proposals, techniques and technology. You will provide direction and/or advice and ensure Secretarial decisions and final reports are accurate, timely, and adequately documented.

    The Office of the Secretary of Transportation (OST) is looking for a motivated, self-reliant, skilled candidate willing to learn and adapt to change in working with experienced professionals. This position is located in the Department of Transportation (DOT) building, which sits directly across the street from the Navy Yard metro station and blocks away from the Washington National’s Baseball stadium. OST has flexible work schedules (to include Telework) and flexible health benefits.
