    JOB SUMMARY:

    The Public Affairs Office (PAO) is the principal Office of the Director National Intelligence (ODNI) organization responsible for internal and external communications. The Public Affairs Office develops communication strategies to help disseminate key messages to four principal target audiences: the internal workforce, members of the media, the general public, and other interested stakeholders. Public Affairs acts as the gateway for individual, public, and media requests; facilitates public appearances and responses of ODNI leadership; maintains and operates public and internal ODNI websites; and disseminates timely information to target audiences to facilitate understanding of the ODNI’s mission, goals, and strategies. The Strategic Communications Division, within the Public Affairs Office, manages internal and external strategic communication and outreach efforts that inform these audiences with an accurate view of the role and mission of the ODNI

    Duties

    1 vacancy – Northern Virginia

    Develop online media campaigns to provide greater understanding of ODNI’s mission, goals, and strategies to a variety of diverse audiences.

    Develop, publish, and maintain social media content for ODNI web 2.0 technologies, such as Facebook, Twitter, and Flickr.

    Coordinate with media relations and internal communications officers to ensure consistent messaging and timely communications.

    Evaluate and monitor the impact of electronic media communication efforts and provide structured recommendations and innovative solutions to maximize the effectiveness of communication within the IC.

    Serve as an adviser to ODNI components on electronic media communications strategies, initiatives, and messaging.

    Collaborate with IC Public Affairs offices to identify strategic, collaborative communication initiatives – specifically those focused on web 2.0 technologies.

    Manage, develop, and execute new communication vehicles, such as blogs, audio, video, and online publications to ensure that key messages are available to all members of the IC.
