As a Nurse Practitioner, you would provide primary health care working in collaboration with a licensed physician or physicians. Duties would include, but not be limited to:
assessing the physical and psychosocial status of clients by means of interview, health history, physical examination, and diagnostic tests;
diagnosing illnesses and physical conditions and performing therapeutic and corrective measures.
The above duties are performed in accordance with a written practice agreement and written practice protocols for the psychiatry specialty and agreed upon in advance by you and the physician of record.
You must have a certificate and current registration to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in New York State.
