The Inyo National Forest is hiring a transit planner to coordinate all forest transit programs, studies, and partnerships. The forest has received over $500,000 for transit studies and the program is poised to grow significantly under the right leadership. This will be a high profile position, and the incumbent will be working with federal, state and local partners. This is a fantastic and unusual opportunity with the Forest Service.

The position is located in Bishop, California, one of the top outdoor recreation towns in California. It is 45 minutes from Mammoth Mountain Ski Area, and less than 100 miles from Yosemite, Death Valley, and Sequoia-Kings Canyon National Parks.

Application deadline is 2/23/10. Announcement can be found on USAJobs. Job announcement number is ADS10-R5-INFSO-00784D.
