    Stephen Peteritas

The Illinois Public Health Institute has an opening for the position of Program Associate, Community Training and Stakeholder Engagement. The due date for applications is January 28, 2011.

The Illinois Public Health Institute (IPHI) is a partnership of public, private and voluntary organizations that seeks to maximize health, wellness and quality of life for the people of Illinois. IPHI administers a number of partnership‐driven projects addressing specific program areas, including the Center for Community Capacity Development (CCCD), the Center for Health Information Technology (CHIT), and the Center for Policy and Partnership Initiatives (CPPI).

About this job, from an email distributed by IPHI:

The position “is a mid-level position shared between two of IPHI’s centers: the Center for Community Capacity Development and the Center for Health Information
Technology. The position reports directly to the Center directors.
We hope to find someone with maturity who has demonstrated leadership ability and who can represent IPHI to stakeholders and partners and
work with them to achieve project deliverables. We expect that the individual
in this position will have the capacity to manage multiple tasks and project
components, and hope to find someone who will grow with IPHI and will take on
increasing responsibility over time. Applicant qualifications are a master’s degree in public health or public administration
or equivalent level of professional experience in program coordination and
content development, outreach and communications, and program maintenance and
    development. We expect a minimum of three years of professional experience;
five to seven years is preferred.

We would like to find someone who has experience
participating in community health assessments and planning with an emphasis in
engaging stakeholders and collecting community and stakeholder information
through town hall meetings or forums, focus groups, surveys and interviewing.
In addition, a strong communication background and skill set is essential,
including experience developing communication campaigns and developing training
    tools and resources.”
