    CFPB is seeking PMFs to manage and coordinate special projects in support of the Bureau’s standup.

    POSITION TITLE: Manager, Special Projects
    LOCATION: Washington, DC
    DURATION: 3-6 Months, starting anytime through the end of 2011

    The Dodd-Frank Act of 2010 established CFPB as an independent entity within, but autonomous from, the Federal Reserve System. On July 21, 2011, the Bureau opened its doors. CFPB’s Chief Operating Officer seeks 1-2 Presidential Management Fellows to manage and coordinate special projects that are instrumental to the Bureau’s standup. Projects may deal with but are not limited to the following: supervision of financial institutions, consumer education and engagement, human capital, budget and finance, financial research, enforcement of consumer protection laws, engagement with external stakeholders, technology and Federal procurement. The PMF will be expected to work on projects of varying lengths and respond to emergent issues. Tasks include but are not limited to tracking milestones, ensuring their proper execution, conducting quantitative and qualitative analysis, convening and organizing meetings, reporting to senior leadership and documenting processes. Rotating PMFs will be full members of the team.

    Seeking someone who is exceptionally organized; enthusiastic; has demonstrated strong communication and analytic skills; has experience with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Project; can be flexible in what can be a fast pace environment and is client-focused. Desired candidates can be smart generalists or have some consulting or project management experience.
