    The Director of Business Development is responsible for market analysis (IO, StratCom, Media), strategy development to include
    market/customer diversification/expansion, customer relationship development,
    management and mentoring of business development staff, opportunity-specific
    capture management, proposal development and management, and marketing support
    activities across Federal (primarily DoD), Commercial and International

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    o Ability to leverage existing customer and partner relationships, specifically within
    IO, Strategic Communications and Media lines of business to increase revenue
    and penetrate new markets and customers

    o Ability to interface with executive-level individuals and have the ability to establish
    long term relationships

    o Ability to operate effectively in a complex, fact paced, global organization, that
    provides mission critical capabilities

    o Provide leadership and ownership of operational BD tools, processes and people

    o Ability to analyze initial Request for Proposals (RFPs), produce a high level summary
    and quickly provide a snapshot on the capture / proposal requirements

    o Management of the capture/proposal process that at a minimum includes win strategies,
    customer requirement analysis, competitor assessments, themes/discriminators,
    risk issues, price-to-win analysis and resource requirements

    o Establish BD tracking tools and processes, weekly team and executive meetings to
    communicate BD activities

    o Establish BD organization goals and metrics aligned with the corporate strategy

    o Ability to develop a cohesive marketing plan for the organization

    o Successful track record of working across functional organization (contracts, finance,
    human resource, operations) to coordinate resources and support.

    Specific Skills and Experience Required:

    o 10+ years as a Director of Business Development within the federal marketplace,
    specifically Department of Defense (DoD)

    o Experienced hands-on, savvy executive who is analytical, knowledgeable, and confident in
    their abilities, establishing immediate credibility

    o Superb interpersonal and time management skills. Must able to generate trust and build
    alliances with the organization and with external vendors and customers

    o Creative individual who regularly seeks innovative solutions to complex
    business/technical issues

    o Proven track record of success in market assessment, target identification, capture
    management (qualifying opportunities) and closing deals (sales goal obtainment)

    o Extensive experience understanding the activities of the entire federal government
    capture, proposal and federal contracting process, from pre-RFP through
    customer debriefs

    o Highly self-motivated, experienced coach, leading diverse technical teams with a
    flexible, reliable, strong work ethic in pursuit of new business opportunities

    o Certified proposal training from Shipley Associates or another professional organization

    o Skilled communicator with excellent oral and written communication skills as well as
    outstanding presentation skills

    o Proficient in MS Office

    o Ability to travel 30% of the time, to include international locations

    o BA/BS Degree

    o Active Security Clearance with classified proposal experience as well as experience in
    Intel and Media/PR

    o Local to Northern VA commuting area
