We are currently seeking a Procurement Manager to manage and perform supervisory, administrative and procurement functions for City departments and Hampton City Schools. The Procurement Manager will plan, organize and direct all phases of the City’s centralized procurement operation to include the acquisition of all supplies, materials, equipment, contractual services and professional services in accordance with all applicable Federal and State rules, regulations and State and City procurement policies and procedures.
Key qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Public Administration or related field. Certified Public Purchasing Officer (CPPO) from the National Institute of Governmental Purchasing is required or must be obtained within one year of employment. Also required is extensive progressive responsible experience in governmental procurement with considerable supervisory experience. Knowledgeable of Federal and State laws as they apply to procurement contracts is required.
