This position is located in the Office of the Executive Director, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs,U.S. State Department. The “office code” of the unit is ECA-IIP/EX, which reflects the unit’s place in the Department’s structure. ECA-IIP/EX provides executive direction for the full range of administrative, resource management, planning, and internal control activities for the Bureaus of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) and International Information Programs (IIP).
* Incumbent will be subject to random drug testing.

* Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
* Relocation expenses will NOT be paid.
* One year probationary period, unless excepted by regulation.
Collaborates with the ECA-IIP/EX Director plans oversees and evaluates programs and activities of the Bureau; establishes the framework for office activities; determines office objectives and priorities; identifies and develops long and short range plans; and ensures the development and implementation of new program directions to accomplish the Department’s public diplomacy goals in the areas in management and administration.
Coordinates activities and resolves major problems encountered in program implementation assesses office accomplishments and ensures redirection of efforts or changes in emphasis to address redefined objectives.
Meets and collaborates with other Bureaus to discuss incorporating “best practices” into ECA and IIP business processes and provides authoritative ECA-IIP/EX perspectives as well as the requirements and implications for each course of action.
Leads/participates in meetings with senior DoS and other USG senior officials.
