Additional Duty Location Info:1 vacancy – Alexandria, VAThis position is located in the Deputy Adminstration for Special Nutrition Programs, Child Nutrition Division, Policy and Program Development Branch, in the USDA Food and Nutrition Service.
As a Program Analyst you will:
- Develop and implement national guidelines that include the entire-range of actions, relationships and standards for new projects and demonstrations, for which established guidelines have been relatively unsuccessful or largely inapplicable.
- Research and study Child Nutrition Programs and develop applicable plans to be used as models in areas where existing plans and operations have been ineffective.
- Represent the Agency at meetings with high level officials, negotiates workable agreements with Agency managers and other officials at the State level, Office of Management and Budget (OMB), Office of the General Counsel (OGC), Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), Social Security Administration (SSA), and U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), in resolving operational and management problems related to the operation of new Child Nutrition Programs.
Qualifications and Evaluations

Minimum Qualification Requirement:
You must have one year of experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service. Experience for this position includes developing or interpreting and analyzing the policies, procedures, and regulations of a Federal, state or local level nutrition assistance program or other closely related social service program or project, and developing or preparing supportive documents (such as spreadsheets, textual summaries, etc.).
The experience may have been gained in either the public or private sector. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.

Category Rating will be used to rank and select eligible candidates.
