    DUTIES:

    This position is located in the Veterans Health Administration, Interagency Health Affairs. The employee serves as a Program Specialist (Social Media) with specific focus on web content and social media for veteran outreach. The employee reports to the Director for Interagency Relations and the Chief Officer for Intergovernmental Affairs (SES position). Other duties include but are not limited to the following:

    · Develops detailed plans and goals for operation and maintenance and maintains accurate and up-to-date information for all web and social media sites

    · Develops ideas for web pages, content, graphics, video and photography and executes these using industry standard software and scanning devices

    · Researches and proposes new opportunities for social media endeavors

    · Monitors web pages and initiates action to place “under construction” whenever material is outdated or when request by management

    · Serves as a liaison to visitors to office social media sites, coordinates responses with appropriate Subject Matter Experts and obtains appropriate approvals before distribution

    · Completes continual reviews of editorial content to ensure quality, usability, style, visual congruity, and proper format

    · Develops regular metrics and return-on-investment progress reports on social media efforts, turning data into actionable items

    · Analyzes and communicates web site usage statistics to management and develops initiatives to increase readership numbers

    · Researches and creates emerging tools and languages to enhance the office web site environment

    · Leads day-to-day operations of all social media efforts, including lighter efforts on weekends

    · Coordinates multiple branded Facebook and Twitter accounts
