ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The core responsibilities of this position will include project monitoring, evaluation, oversight, and the authoring of communications to senior management and federal agencies as necessary. The successful candidate must have working knowledge of Project Management Institute's best practices and standards. This individual will work closely with senior management from the Department of Social Services' business community and the Information Technology Service Division entity supporting the Department of Social Services. This individual will also work with existing project teams and develop reports addressing objectives articulated by the senior management sponsors.
JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Extensive knowledge of current computer information technology developments and techniques and how they apply to the agency. Thorough knowledge of the principles of general management, particularly as applied to computer information technology. Considerable knowledge of personnel management, project management, governmental budgeting, fiscal management and/or grants and contract management. Ability to communicate effectively accross all levels of the organization. Ability to develop short and long-range plans that meet established objectives and contribute to the overall goals and mission of the agency. Ability to manage, develop and motivate subordinates. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with subordinates, associates, agency management officials, and information technology vendors and professional organizations.
Minimum of five years professional experience, including three years of supervisory and project management/oversight responsibilities, three years of technical computer information technology systems experience, (i.e. computer programming, systems analysis and design); and three years of experience reporting directly to and/or working closely with senior management on projects. Graduated with a Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university, with at least 15 semester-hours successfully completed in computer science, computer information systems, or closely related areas.
