    * Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.


    If you are selected for this position, you will serve as a Public Affairs Specialist in the Office of Strategic Communications and Public Affairs (SCPA), Transportation Security Administration (TSA), U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS). As a Public Affairs Specialist, you will apply your experience and detailed knowledge of public affairs program policies, principles, concepts, and practices to implement public affairs programs.

    Duties include but are not limited to:
    # Providing ongoing service to managers, Field Representatives, and TSA employees. This includes gathering news media clippings and information from external contacts, and discussing customer concerns.
    # Drafting and writing news releases, featured articles, presentations, and related staff activities.
    # Coordinating with the Director on developing minutes for meetings.
    # Providing advice and guidance to managers and employees on cases to which established guidelines directly apply.
    # Coordinating and organizing broadcast media interviews on various topics with staff members and outside agencies involving TSA activities.
