The U.S. Department of Education, Office of the Deputy Secretary, is hiring a full-time position at the GS-13/14 level to work on the Race to the Top Assessment team. The position will be working closely with the two consortia of states that received grants from the Department to develop the next generation of K-12 assessments in reading and mathematics to measure whether students have the skills to succeed in college and the workforce. The position will evaluate and analyze the quality of the consortia’s work, support the grantees and provide technical assistance, and identify areas of collaboration across the grantees and other Department programs.
The position includes a selective factor: Applicants must have experience analyzing elementary and secondary education policies that affect multiple schools or school districts utilizing policy analysis, performance measures and evaluations studies and experience using data to evaluate the progress and outcomes of a grant or project that contains a significant technical component.
