This position is located in the Wage and Hour Division (WHD), Office of the Assistant Administrator for Planning, Performance, Evaluation and Communication. This position is responsible for a high degree of program coordination and control assuring accountability, oversight and responsiveness to the Administrator’s goals and objectives as well as consistent communication of these goals and objectives.
GS-15 is the full performance level of this position.
This position is located outside the bargaining unit.

Serves as a Senior Policy Advisor to the Assistant Administrator, Wage and Hour Division (WHD), Department of Labor (DOL) on matters related to WHD’s business processes and enforcement policies. Serves as an active participant on WHD’s leadership team. Makes substantial contributions to comprehensive short and long-range planning for the agency’s operating programs. Writes and implements activities related to high level administrative policies, measurement and reporting of results and internal and external coordination of high level policy activities. Oversees and assesses the agency’s procedures and practices with the goal of modernizing and continually improving the agency’s high level business processes. Coordinates processes to implement new wage and hour related enforcement protocols and ensures consistency with WHD’s policy position. Unites the planning of WHD’s program priorities and its business processes, including communicating goals and initiatives, policies and procedures to high level WHD staff nationwide. This includes gendering support and negotiating issues with high level DOL, Congressional staff or other stakeholders. Integrates WHD policy and business process changes to ensure that agency operations are consistent with WHD’s mission, operating plans, goals and initiatives. Develops short and long-range WHD regulatory and legislative plans, options and alternatives.
