    Solutions Consultant

    POSITION SUMMARY

    The Solutions Consultant (SC) works within the technology team and provides support to the Sales organization on the increasingly technical nature of the GovDelivery platform. In addition, Solutions Consultants work with Sales, current customers, prospects, and technology partners to create proof-of-concept or prototype solutions based on our sales and growth strategy. These projects have high visibility within the company and are key contributors to our long term corporate growth strategies.


    The Solutions Consultant is a technical and business jack-of-all-trades with experience in software development and solutions design coupled with a passion for customer success. The SC’s charter is to support sales with technology knowledge and a big picture understanding of how GovDelivery’s platforms and offerings fit within customer initiatives. SC’s are expected to communicate solutions and ideas clearly and effectively and should not be afraid to “roll up their sleeves” to highlight technical concepts or capabilities.


    25% to 50% travel is required for this position.


    RESPONSIBILITIES

    § Partner with Sales to provide technology expertise and deep platform knowledge where appropriate

    § Identify and assess potential technology products in alignment with our product growth strategy

    § Manage new technology from prototype phase through early beta client phase


    PREFERRED SKILLS

    § Technical degree in Computer Science or related field (4yrs) or equivalent experience

    § Excellent organization skills

    § Excellent technical sales and technical business development skills

    § Technical knowledge of Saas, Services Oriented Architecture (SOA), API’s, and Rapid Application Development

    § Ability to interact with many different types of individuals including: executives, technologists, engineers, and other business professionals

    § Understanding of our Sales methodology and the role of Technical Sales within it

    § Ability to relate eloquently, intelligently, and with conviction

    § Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills with a “can do” approach to solving problems

    § Demonstrated self-confidence and self-reliance in all aspects of this role

    § Software experience in Java, Perl/PHP, Ruby, etc

    § Experience working with databases


    OPTIONAL CANDIDATE ATTRIBUTES

    § Experience working with enterprise SaaS or web-hosted software

    § Experience in the Ruby programming language

    § Project management experience


    COMPENSATION

    This position is critical to the success of our business and the compensation package will be tailored to the candidate commensurate with candidate’s experience and skills. Compensation will include base salary and performance-based incentives. Benefits include paid vacation and holidays, medical and dental plan, and matching 401(k).
