    SALARY RANGE: $118,846 – $154,501 per year

    The selectee will serve as director of the Division of News and Electronic Media (DNEM) with responsibility for planning, directing, organizing and exercising control over supervisor and non supervisory employees. H/she will (1) ensure that the division’s products and activities comply with legal and regulatory requirements and meet customer needs, (2), research , interpret, analyze and apply relevant guidelines, policies and regulations, (3) plan and direct long and short term strategies to foster, strengthen and integrate health communication, public affairs and media relations systems.

    Additional, h/she will serve as a principal advisor to the Associate Director for Communication on such activities, determining appropriate long-term strategies for division capacity building.

    In coordination with the Associate Director, h/she will serve as the agency’s primary spokesperson for routine, highly sensitive, complex, and emergency situations. In this capacity, h/she will work with domestic and international media outlets to foster the best possible public image for the organization, and identify current industry and lifestyle trends that create opportunities to position the agency as an industry leader and expert resource for news media.


    In addition to proven supervisory experience, the optimal selectee for this position must possess the following experience:

    -Senior-level experience planning, developing and executing a complex public affairs program which includes news and electronic media (e.g. social media, Web 2.0) activities;

    -Experience planning and developing long and short-term communications strategies;

    -Experience serving as primary spokesperson for conveying information on complex health programs/initiatives.
