    Job Description

    The Village of Amberley is a community of 3,550 residents located in southwest Ohio. The Village is a 3.5 square-mile northern suburb of Cincinnati with a median family income of more than twice the national average and an educational level of nearly three times the national average The Cincinnati Enquirer described the community as an “oasis of wealth and green space, a ‘destination’ neighborhood where people stay once they move in.”

    The Village has operated under the council-manager plan since the mid-1950s. The most recent Village Manager retired from the City after 34 years as Village Manager. The Village offers high quality municipal services through a combined Police/Fire Department, Public Works Department, and Administration Department. Amberley is a full-service community with 35 full-time employees and a $ 6.1 million all funds total annual budget

    Seven Council Members are elected at-large in November of odd-numbered years for two-year terms. The Mayor and Vice Mayor are chosen by the Council from among its members. The City Manager who is appointed by the City Council appoints all Department Directors.

    Job Requirements

    The minimum job requirements are: 1) master’s degree in public or business administration; and 2) at least 5 years of progressively responsible public management experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
