    JOB SUMMARY:

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Responsible for designing and creating company’s website(s) from initial concept to final design implementation. Work includes the technical planning, design, development, testing, implementation, and management of Internet activities, including systems/applications development and technical management of website(s). Monitors functionality, security, and integrity of MCCS Internet services; extends, enhances, and optimizes the existing architecture; troubleshoots and resolves technical problems with the design and delivery of MCCS Internet services.

    Edits source code to place new pages in the appropriate location on the website(s); tests new pages to ensure correct formatting, optimum display of graphics, and properly functioning links; ensures that the website(s) work across commonly used browsers.

    Develops, prepares, adds, updates, and removes web content as applicable on all Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) publicly facing website(s) or portal(s) to include, but not limited to text, images, custom graphics, PDF files, special announcements or documents as required. Ensure copyrighted material is used with proper authorizations. Designs and develops user interface features, site animation, and special-effects elements using a variety of graphics software applications, techniques, and tools.

    Reviews MCCS site(s) for signs of hacked, outdated, inaccurate or inappropriate content or obvious omissions. Coordinates and schedules site projects and upgrades. Develops long-range plans in conjunction with internal operating directives. Coordinates with other MCCS departments to keep the site(s) up-to-date and accurate.

    Keeps abreast of current web practices to make sure websites stay as innovative and fresh as possible. Remains current with the latest web-security techniques and best practices to diligently protect MCCS Okinawa and its data. Maintain personal proficiency with duty-required technology, tools and hardware advancements.

    Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Acknowledges Asks questions to determine, verify and solve problems. Checks for satisfaction on the quality of goods and services. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher-level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise.

    Qualifications and Evaluations
    QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

    QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
    1. A comprehensive and creative Web portfolio.
    2. Skills in personal and commercial web development, including CMS deployment, HTML, CSS, Adobe Photoshop, etc.
    3. Experience in developing dynamic website content.
    4. Knowledge and experience with search engine optimization (SEO) concepts.
    5. Strong skill in leadership, planning, project management and problem-solving.
    6. Detail-oriented and results-driven.
    7. Experience and knowledge of online marketing, blogs, social networking, and other internet-based capabilities is highly desirable.
    8. Background in marketing, advertising or public relations is desirable.
    9. Superior verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills. Other language abilities, e.g., Japanese may be desirable.
    10. Must be able to interview using Skype.

    BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
    1. Bachelor degree from an accredited college or university in the area of web development, graphic design, or related field, OR equivalent combinations of education and experience: minimum of two (2) years recent experience as a web developer/graphic designer. The web development skills required for this position are those of a mid-level webmaster.

    You must be a U.S. citizen to qualify for this position.

    HOW YOU WILL BE EVALUATED:

    You will be evaluated based upon the question responses you provide during a structured interview. In responding to structured interview questions you should be sure to site specific examples of experience, explain exactly what you did, and the outcome. Must be able to interview using Skype.
