Recently joined the group, of course with a purpose in mind…

I am directing the development of the PA Certified Public Manager (CPM) program. For those not familiar with this nationally recognized certification, click here to see what the PA program will include. What intrigues me about the govloop community is the Fresh Approach. Kudos to govloop.

So with that Fresh Approach in mind…I am looking for individuals who either have their CPM certificate from any one of the 35+ institutions across the country; or any individual that may be in the middle of obtaining their certification. I would love your input into the development of the PA program.

    • What are the pros to the CPM certification?
    • What would you improve about your CPM educational experience?
    • What topics are an absolute must in the program?
    • How do we attract Gen X and Gen Y to the program?

Respond to one or all… anything you can offer is greatly appreciated.

Hi Paul – I have several contacts for you in terms of finding people who have the CPM:

Howard Balanoff and Sue Breland with theTexas State University CPM

    – Al Officer, Graduate School USA, CPM Program, 202.314.3432, [email protected]

Keren Stashower or Julie Riklin, California CPM Program Provider

I’ve done some training for all of them. Let me know if you don’t hear back and I will give you more direct information or make an introduction.

Oh – and note these groups on GovLoop:

    Hi Andrew

Thanks so much for your reply. I am actually working with Howard Balanoff as a mentor on our program development already. He is a great guy, in fact we are using his book, Strategic Public Management… as one of our texts.

I also appreciate your links to the other programs. Already joined cpm, but was not aware of the other groups.
