We have been talking to a lot of cities, towns and counties lately and one central concern started to emerge. During a recent webinar it came up again and we decided it was time to start doing something about it.
What we are hearing from these local governments is that there just isn’t much data or understanding about what specifically citizens what to have available to them in terms of mobile technology. Now we have our own ideas and with almost 500 local governments on our platform we can do a fair amount of analyzing…but the truth is, that still wouldn’t give us the broad ideas (or fresh ones really) that we should have as well.
So we launch a poll this week on Facebook. We are asking anyone and everyone to not only submit your own ideas and vote, but to share the poll with your networks. The large the sample the better obviously. We will be sharing the results with about 1000 local government agencies we are directly in contact with and I have also secured space on several Gov 2.0 blogs to help get the word out.
Our goal with this is to help local government agencies better understand what citizens are looking for when it comes to mobile government. This isn’t a scientific, but the respondents are real citizens and so far, are providing some great ideas. Please take a moment to vote, submit your ideas, and then share it with your friends. Thanks!
