I recently finished grad school (MA in History) and am search for jobs opportunities in DC. I would love to work as a researcher, analyst or historian with a federal agency or private organization.

I have been using USAJobs but are there any other resources out there that are helpful?

Also, any advice on places to live would be welcome. I like bohemian/artsy surroundings. The Haight, Noe Valley, West Village, NYU type areas. I live in SF, so prices don’t shock me.

Check out lots of hiring info and best practices here https://www.govloop.com/page/get-hired

I’ve written a couple articles on the situation from those links…

Definitely start at http://www.usajobs.gov. Depending on the type of job you are looking for, you may want to start out searching by individual agencies such as the Smithsonian or the National Archives. Otherwise, I’d try setting up an alert for the job titles you listed. Best of luck on your search and send me a message if you think I can help you further.

You might try INPUT or FedSources; they hire research analystst. Good luck!
