Make volunteering a New Year’s resolution. MLK Day is the best day to start volunteering in the New Year.

The Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service is a way to transform Dr. King’s life and teachings into community service that helps empower and strengthen local communities. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. once said, “Life’s most persistent and urgent question is: ‘What are you doing for others?'”

Each year, Americans across the country answer that question by coming together on the King Holiday to serve their neighbors and communities.

The MLK Day of Service is a part of United We Serve, the President’s national call to service initiative. It calls for Americans from all walks of life to work together to provide solutions to our most pressing national problems

Visit the MLK Day of Service website for more information on how you can get involved and make the King Day of Service, “A Day On, Not a Day Off!”
