For all those DC-area govies who travel Metro: what do you think about the new policy for random searches of your carry-on items?

I, for one, hope that these searches will be carried out with the standard of efficiency and customer service we have come to expect from Metro. 😉

More of the useless security theater we have come to expect from U.S. law enforcement agencies. Europe went through the same thing in the 70s and 80s with the IRA, Red Brigade, Bieter Meinhoff and other radical organizations. When their citizens finally became fed up with meaningless security theater, much of which persists to this day, European governments hunted down and killed the bad guys and started to roll back at least some of the intrusive window dressing. It is time for the U.S. to do the same. We should also indict foreign nationals who contribute funds to terrorist networks targeting the U.S. and demand extradition.
