I just started using Microsoft Outlook 2010. I love the way Outlook connects with Facebook and Linkedin to give me updates on my friends and contacts. However, I couldn’t get Outlook to connect with Govloop. Does anyone know why this is? Is there a workaround? Thanks!

Cool idea. What did you use to integrate? Was it native to Outlook 2010?

Will look to see what we can do.

    Cool idea

What you’re descibing is the Outlook Social Connector. You couldn’t get it to connect to GovLoop because it only supports a limited set of social networks. Each social network is different and requires that a provider be written for it. So far there are providers for LinkedIn, Facebook, MySpace, and Windows Live. I expect that GovLoop is to small for Microsoft to create a provider, so it’s likely to be up to some third party to create one (if one is created at all). Note that there still isn’t a Twitter provider and Twitter is much larger than GovLoop.
