This position is located in the Office of the Executive Secretariat
and External Affairs, Public Affairs Division. The is responsible planning, implementing and evaluating a strategic corporate communications plan specifically for new media, including, but not limited to, online content in the form of blog posts and audio/visual content, integrating and synthesizing of relevant data, marketing and promotion research and data mining. Writes talking points and other communication materials that are visually creative using the newest technologies and which are appropriate for electronic posting. The incumbent ensures electronic posting of new materials for public outreach programs concerning EDAs economic development programs. Incumbent disseminates through new media networks: press releases, statements, and policy initiatives. Incumbent will coordinate, through a Bureau contractor, the maintenance and design review of the EDA website and other bureau-sponsored sites, as appropriate.

Additional Duty Location Info:1 vacancy – Washington DC Metro Area, DCThe incumbent of this position with the EDA regional offices to gather material and journalistic quality information to post to new media outlets on the EDA website(s); Serves as the Division’s liaison with the Office of the Secretary, Office of Public Affairs, and Office of the Executive Secretariat to provide Web content, media management for the web; Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with representatives of the blogoshere, web interface, and national organizations interested in economic development programs, and responds to public information inquires via new media outlets; Serves as an agency liaison for new media relations; Electronically manages the marketing of agency press releases; Responds to various important agency and departmental priorities and events; Serves as the EDA point-of-contact with the Department and the other Bureaus in coordinating the video?audio taping and upload to EDA web sites of monthly media interviews between the principals and local media in markets throughout the country to highlight America’s strong economic and trade performance.
