GovDelivery seeks a Data Analyst to contribute to our continued rapid growth. Building on the strong sales momentum of the company (Fast 50 winner, 2006 through 2010), this position will spearhead and establish a data analysis discipline within GovDelivery.
The Data Analyst will source, compile and analyze data from GovDelivery production environment and relevant data from external platforms to provide data-guided business intelligence that drives decisions regarding client performance improvements, outreach strategies, marketing and high level business insights.
§ Develop a methodology and initially identify the Business Intelligence tool for mining, compiling and analyzing data from GovDelivery system and other databases
§ Work directly with technology team to determine frequency and method for extracting/importing data
§ Develop, produce and distribute client-facing reports that represent key performance metrics and client/subscriber behaviors related to usage trends; benchmark against clients with similar profiles; highlight opportunities to maximize GovDelivery and complimentary offerings
§ Produce executive facing analyses and reports representing client/subscriber behavior and identifying impact on the business, the product, target marketing and overall strategic direction
§ Collaborate with client-facing team members (Sales, Client Success Consultants) to determine frequency and distribution of reports for various client segments
§ Determine a method for providing on-demand and ad hoc report requests
§ Work directly with product and technology to understand the ever-expanding data and incorporate those into the overall reporting package
The successful candidate will have
§ Enthusiasm and excitement for using data to help solve problems and simplify results for a wider audience
§ Impressive track record of data mining, transformation and analysis
§ Excitement for managing multiple simultaneous projects in a fast-paced environment
§ A passion for using problem solving skills within an analytical framework and a solid understanding of statistical analysis
§ Strong knowledge of SQL programming
§ Knowledge of database structure (Oracle preferred)
§ Proven success using Business Intelligence tools, such as SPSS, Cognos, Hyperion, etc
§ 3-5 years experience in an analyst role
§ BA/BS degree or equivalent in a quantitative field (psychology, economics, physics, mathematics, etc.)
Additionally, the ideal candidate for this position will have many of the following:
§ Technical aptitude and experience working with SaaS applications
§ Familiarity with Web 2.0, social media and web interactive capabilities, including digital communication options (e-mail, SMS, RSS, etc)
This position is critical to the success of our business and the compensation package will be tailored to the candidate commensurate with candidate's experience and skills.
